Coffee Break
EXTRAIT DE CAFÉ COLLECTION BY BTSO (2026)
The New Social Club
Coffee stopped being a quick fix a while ago. These days, ordering one properly requires almost as much expertise as making it — beans, origin, roast, extraction, the works. Baristas train for it. Regulars debate it. Oat, almost expected. Whole milk, borderline basic.
Pantone called it in 2025: Mocha Mousse, the color of the year. Not proof the trend was coming — just a sign it had already arrived. Café latte became latte art, matcha found a dozen new disguises, charcoal turned into a flavor. Coffee, it turns out, was never just coffee. It became the format for something cozier, more sociable, more worth photographing.
Born to Stand Out understood the assignment. The Korean niche fragrance house takes its coffee seriously with its Extrait de Café Collection — why bottle it up when you can roast your own beans? Sold as a limited-edition collection. Not even just a perfume note. A whole sensory object, meant to be smelled as much as sipped.
Hot Stuff, The End of Summer
Coffee, it turns out, was just the beginning. The real craving is warmer, creamier, maybe with a little sweetness.
Mocha is the obvious place to start. Solinotes' Mocha turns coffee and chocolate into something creamy and comforting, while Gisou's Milky Mocha takes that same indulgence into hair perfume. Rich, smooth, unapologetically gourmand.
Then comes the latte. Less about the coffee itself than everything we've learned to put around it. Kayali plays with coffee beans and silky latte facets in Freedom Musk Matcha | 45 and Freedom Musk Latte | 41. Pistachio joins the menu next, with New Notes' Latte Pistachio tapping into the nutty, velvety side of the specialty coffee palette. The kind of order that sounds increasingly like a dessert.
Ah! And of course, there's matcha (DKNY Be Delicious Latte Matcha, and Matcha Milk by Phlur) — though at this point, it hardly needs an introduction. No coffee note required. The coffee shop lent its mood, and the fragrance takes the rest, swapping the espresso for something greener.
New drinks and textures. Same craving. Always a little sweet, always a little indulgent.

ESPRESSO WENT POP BEFORE IT BECAME A SCENT. SABRINA CARPENTER’S SWEET TOOTH ME ESPRESSO (2024) DROPPED THE SAME YEAR AS THE SONG, A BABY-BLUE CHOCOLATE BAR DUNKED IN AN ESPRESSO MARTINI — CUTE, UNTIL YOU ACTUALLY READ THE FINE PRINT. AS SWEET AS IT SOUNDS. NAUGHTIER THAN IT LETS ON, EXACTLY LIKE THE SONG.
DKNY'S BIG APPLE TAKES AN UNEXPECTED TURN WITH A WHOLE NEW COLLECTION BUILT FOR THE NEW YORK COFFEE-SHOP GIRL — CAFFEINATED, CHRONICALLY LATE, ALLERGIC TO DECAF. A TASTY TRIO: PISTACHIO (CAFÉ LATTE, MARSHMALLOW, ZERO APOLOGIES), VANILLA (BASICALLY DESSERT), MATCHA (GREEN APPLE TWIST, THE ONLY THING TYING IT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL BE DELICIOUS). SAME ADDICTION. JUST A LOT MORE SUGAR.

ROGER & GALLET’S CAFÉ ROGER AND SOLINOTES’ MOCHA BOTH ARRIVE AT REMARKABLY SIMILAR IMAGERY — BOTTLES FLOATING IN CAPPUCCINO, COFFEE BEANS HERE AND THERE, FOR EFFECT. COINCIDENCE? MAYBE. BUT THE RESEMBLANCE IS HARD TO MISS.
CAFÉ ROGER PLAYS IT CONCENTRATED AND GROWN-UP: BERGAMOT, CAFÉ LATTE, WHITE FLOWERS, A SHOT OF ESPRESSO STRONG ENOUGH TO EARN ITS 20%. SOLINOTES SKIPS THE PRETENSE ENTIRELY AND GOES STRAIGHT FOR DESSERT — TOFFEE, CARAMEL CUSTARD, TONKA BEAN, VANILLA. COFFEE’S BASICALLY A RUMOR AT THIS POINT.
SAME PICS. DIFFERENT TASTE.

From masstige to niche, from Zara to Loewe, from cocoa to tonka bean, to charcoal and banana — there’s an order for every taste! The coffee shop has become a new creative territory for perfumers: to each house its own signature, and a million ways to interpret the same trend.
Whether it’s coffee beans paired with plum, white flowers and a nutty edge, as in Kylie Cosmetics’ Velvet Bloom, or simply milk foam and anything else that fits the mood, it’s all the same café vocabulary, rewritten with an extra shot of imagination. And sometimes, coffee disappears altogether: Vanilla Twirl by LoveShackFancy keeps the milk mousse, drops the caffeine, and nobody seems to mind.
Cardamom is having a moment, and perfumery knows it. Prada spices it up with Infusion de Santal Chai, Nest turns it into Cardamom Latte, while Elixir Privé takes mocha somewhere darker with Moka Clash, pairing chocolate and cardamom with immortelle.
The cup is just a canvas. New ingredients, different levels of sophistication, unexpected twists, and endless possibilities — but somehow, still a latte.

BATCHIG'S CHARCOAL LATTE GOES SOLID, DARK AND COUTURE — IRIS, CHARCOAL, ALMOND MILK, TOASTED SESAME, HOUSED IN A CASE SET WITH DALMATIAN JASPER LIKE IT'S GUARDING SOMETHING PRECIOUS. NEW YORK ENERGY, PARISIAN DISCIPLINE. LOVE! PHLUR'S MATCHA MILK PLAYS A SOFTER GAME — MACADAMIA MILK, WARM VANILLA, BLACK TEA, AND OF COURSE, MATCHA, GREEN THROUGH AND THROUGH. ALL SOFTNESS, ALL COMFORT. SELF CARE, NO EXCUSE.
ONE'S A RITUAL. THE OTHER'S A HUG YOU DIDN'T ASK FOR BUT NEEDED ANYWAY.

ZARA'S BLUSH COFFEE COMES IN A SLEEK BROWN BOTTLE THAT READS FAR MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IT IS — CAFÉ LATTE, MILK MOUSSE, VANILLA, AND A ROSE NOTE THAT TIPS THE WHOLE THING INTO ROMANTIC TERRITORY. PROOF THAT "ACCESSIBLE" AND "ELEGANT" WERE NEVER MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.
LOEWE'S WILD COFFEE, FROM ITS HIGH-END CRAFTED COLLECTION, TAKES COFFEE SOMEWHERE DARK AND EXOTIC — CARDAMOM, PASSION FRUIT, MANGO, GUAVA, OUD, AGARWOOD, SAFFRON, A TROPICAL DETOUR INTO FULL OPULENCE. COFFEE, BUT MAKE IT HIGH SOCIETY. DIFFERENT PRICE TAGS. SAME AMBITION.
